Day 3....It's Monday!

It's day 3.  This day holds promise!  Every day holds promise because I choose to trust God even in the job world!  Imagine that!  You see, Jesus isn't just somebody I take with me to church on Sunday morning.  I take Him with me everywhere I go!

It's going to be about a 13 hour day.  Already I've gone to church to teach VBS a little.  Now it's work time here shortly.  The customers will come.  They will be in search of technology and specific things they need.  They will seek out help from me.

It's up to me whether or not I have a good attitude or not.  You see God posted me up with this thought.  Originally, I was going to stay home and sleep this morning until God interrupted that thought with "The Son of man has no place to rest His head."  CONVICTION.  So what's a sleep lost to impact people's lives for eternity?!!!!

My customers will come in today.  Tired or not, I will treat them the same way Jesus would.  Challenges may come but I'm up for it.

This week's Bible School Theme is Collosal Coaster Ride."  Some days in my job I feel like it's a Roller Coaster ride.   There are ups and downs, twists and turns and things that show up unannounced. However, with Jesus right by my side, anything is possible!  I can't do this on my own, but through His strength I can!

Day 3...I'm ready for you.  BRING IT ON!

In His Unfailing Love,
Alicia

It's Day 2...Strength When I'm Weak.

I got this idea to blog about my journey through the busy retail season yesterday.  It includes Jesus because He is the source of all of my strength and I can't do this without Him. Period.

The sun hasn't even risen and I'm awake.  This day will be approximately a 12 hour work day and as far as the entire day goes it will be about a 16 1/2 day with the next several days to upwards of a week looking just like this one.  I cling to the hot cup of coffee on my desk.  Sleep will be precious to me.  I'm reminded that Jesus Christ, the Son of God has no place to rest His head.  Really, I've no room to complain about being tired but it's the human part of me.

Here in VA it happens to be Tax-Free weekend.  Moms and Dad's, grandparents, and various other relatives file into my store to get the biggest deals of the weekend.  They're looking to save money.  In my department, I'm the first face they see and meet.  You see these people aren't just another customer to me.  They have come for some reason to purchase an item.  I see them, their lives too are busy.  As they cross the thresh hold they have a goal in mind...to get in and get out and with spending as little money as possible.

I have a goal too!  To treat them with absolute kindness and respect and give them world class customer service.  To treat them the same way Jesus would treat them.  Some days are a challenge when tiredness sneaks in, but I'm reminded that they've come for a reason.  Divine appointments I like to call them.  They aren't there by mistake whether or not they know it.  Some days they'll give me a sneak peak into their lives.  Their walls will come down.  Over the next 149 days I'm sure I'll hear plenty of stories along with the faces I'll meet.  I welcome them, each and every one because God gave me two ears and one mouth.  Listen more and talk less.

Busy Season, I welcome you with open arms.  God is my source and strength and He will get me through all 150 days (correction, 149).

2 Corinthians 12:10:  "Therefore, I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ's sake, for when I am weak, then I am strong!

Blessings,
